im awake right now..at 10 am on a saturday because my little brazilian left me :( its quite upsetting. the month went by SO quickly. shes going around europe with her mom until march 13 and then she'll be back and ill see her again because she left some of her bags in my room..but she wont be my roomie again :( so im a bit sad at the moment. but she said shes gonna visit ny and of course id like nothing more than to see her in brazil. that would be very awesome. im sure, as jeff told me earlier, that our friendship is beyond france. (i like that..thanks jeff haha). in other news..
this week was alright..tuesday sucked as usual and otherwise everything went pretty normally. but on wednesday, a new roommate moved in (yes there are 3 bedrooms here). her name is lauren and shes american..from wisconsin. shes pretty chill and we get along already even though its been like 3 days. im sure we'll have a lot of fun while shes here AND she'll be here til i leave. so hopefully there will not be anymore crying in another month.
so far this weekend has been fun but i always come home early because of the freaking metro. its fun to go out..especially under our little bridge..and then we usually make it to a bar or club. but the second i start having moreeee fun, everyones like "hmmm? staying out or leaving" and usually its the second one. maybe tonight will be a little crazier..guess ill find out. alright well im probably gonna sleep for a few more hours. night everyone!

Metro Ride Pregame
Yesterday was Valentines Day but it was also Chinese New Year AND the mardi gras celebaration. some friends and i met up in china town where, due to miscommunication, we basically missed the parade and ate chinese food instead. but it was fun anyway..later that night i came up with an idea for pregaming that included somewhere warm. usually we pregame under a bridge and it gets cold..but i thought, we should pregame on the metro! haha..so kate and i met up at a station in between our neighborhoods and on our way to pick up other people we drank in the metro..it actually worked out well although im sure it would be a lot less awkward if it wasnt sunday. then we just hung out in a kebab place where the owners offered us free beer (very niceee) and i watched the strangest movie ever. basically women in thongs and armor were trying to capture a man..and his punishment...SEX! omggg. that must have been horrible for him. today is monday and tomorrow is the official fat tuesday so i figured id go online and check for anything going on in paris. well apparently all the big parades were yesterday and of course we missed them..and i was wondering why people had confetti in their hair yesterday and masks on..but im sure we'll find SOMETHIGN at the bars on tuesday. alright well its 420 and i havent even left my bed yet so im gonna get my day started. peaceee

Vin Rouge
ao i finally booked my whole winter break..very exciting. im doing the amsterdam thing for my birthday..so that should be a shit show. booking a vacation is stressful..jeeeez.
so last night was really fun except that it got cut short cause everyone decided to go home on the metro at 130..i had such a great buzz going on that i got pretty upset..to say the least haha. yesterday we went to two museums which was pretty productive. first we went to musee carnavalet which has a lot of the history of paris inside it..theres rooms with furniture from louis XVI's times and KEYS FROM THE BASTILLE..which was freaking awesome..and marie antionettes slippers and hair and prison cell..and basically it was awesome. then on our way to the metro we stopped by two stores and of course everything was freaking expensive but i found a cute black skirt for 20 euros wooooo first purchase in paris. awesome for me. finally we got to the louvre and this time i saw the mona lisa and medieval art and egyptian art. (if you wanna see the photos theyre not on facebook theyre at nadiainparis.shutterfly.com) it was getting late so we headed to a grocery store to buy wine and went to our bridge to pregame. some french dudes (non-creepers finally) stopped by and talked to us for a while. it was so cold but we were having a good time. we spent a while there before we finally decided to move and go to a pub that has some dancing. i was having fun when 15 minutes later we had to leave..AWESOME. hopefully tonight no one will be a pusscake and we'll stay out. haha ok thats all for now peace

Madame GaGa
salut!
just a quick update before bed..tuesdays are my worst day of the week because i have class 9:30-6:30 straight through..so it sucks. but today was not too bad. i had a presentation in my conversation class that me and holly did on the latin quarter in paris. our teacher, dominique, often asks us to describe something and we've done it before. the first time, we described lady gaga and dominique had no clue "who this madame gaga is". so in our presentation today as a little joke, we added "poker face" to a slide and she finally got to listen to madame gaga for the first time. it was pretty amusing. my other classes werent bad except for "paris metisse" which is in french and sooo boring because the teacher mostly lectures about immigrants in france. but luckily we got to watch a movie too and i was really excited to see that the apartment in the movie was right next door to mine..(i could see the fountain that looks like clams in the movie...and YOU can see it at nadiainparis.shutterfly.com)
in other news, it is SO hard planning out a vacation. although im in paris which is central to all the places i wanna go, tickets are expensive and finding the cheapest ones make me wanna smash the computer. then theres hostels and people to go with. people say yes, and last minute they change their minds and then im like "well do i still go?" but right now the plan for my winter break is bruges, belgium to amsterdam (for my birthday..uh oh) to london to dublin. but now i might go to spain before london instead of amsterdam. ugh. i dont know. anyway, im pooped..see ya guys later

Superbowl Sunday- SAINTS!
as i found out yesterday, yes, it is possible to watch american football in paris. after sleeping in until a very embarrassing time that i wont mention, i went to american breakfast (that same diner i went to before) and stuffed myself. unfortunately i only own a piece of salami, some cheese, lemon, and an avocado. so im probably gonna have to force myself to go shopping. after doing some homework, i met my friends at a metro shop around 11 pm and we headed to a sports bar called "le players" that one of them found. it was 5 euros to get in but we got a free drink (and my only drink for the night) as we walked in. the bar was huge..there was 3 floors and each floor had like 43543 tv's. i thought itd be packed with americans but there was actually a whole lot of young french people. overall it was a lot of fun being able to watch the game in france. the food was ridiculously expensive..and they didnt have chili(!!) so that wasnt cool but during halftime i ran across the street for a kebab so it was all good. so the game started at 1230 for me and ended around 4. after my excitement died down from the saints win i realized i had two options: spend money on a taxi home or wait for the metro to open at 530. half of my group of friends took taxis while i, peter, and alex (wooo PC!) stayed in a cafe, ordered a 4 euro coffee, and talked for an hour and a half. finally it was time to go home and i went to bed around 7.
so im freakin tired right now and i gotta do laundry and a project. yay mondays.

Quatre Vents!
tonight was fucking AWESOME. i took a half hour nap after the catacombes (which were creepy as hell but still pretty cool..i mean hey, i was surrounded by skeletons) and then we pregamed in our usual spot under the bridge. then we went to this club called quatre vents which translates into four winds and it was a gooooooood time. even though at first there was no one there we all danced and the music was good. then it got busier and i was having a good time with the girls (and peter and nick and alex of course) until we had to catch the freakin metro. i just got back and im going to bed but im jealous because LAST ONE OUT is playing at a bar downtown and everyone (including my PARENTS) are going. unfortunaly, i cannot attend since im here..in france. but i wish them luck and know theyll be awesome as always. oh and i got emails from friends back at PC which made me very happy. oh computers are great. i miss everyone!

Finally got a computer!
anyone that talked to me last semester knew that my computer was crap. not only did it take between 20 minutes to 3 hours to turn on but the internet connection lasted an average of 3 to 4 minutes. so finally, under perfect circumstances (you know, with me being across the world) my computer decided to not turn on. ever again. its been a hard two weeks (its really sad how much a lack of a computer can affect you) but i just got a computer this morning. my neighbor back home came to paris on business and my parents gave her their computer to give me. and viola! i am connected again to the world yay.
so i guess theres a lot to update everyone on. so far classes are good. i have class 3 times a week. tue through thur. so yeah 4 day weekends are pretty much the shit. im taking two french language classes (grammar and conversation) which arent bad and are repeats because providence college is retarded. im also taking french phonetics, paris metisse (which is about the diversity of paris) and avant-garde french art. only the art class is in english sooooo yeah good times.
otherwise, ive just been getting used to the city. the metro is so simple here. only thing that sucks is money. everythings so expensive and its so bad because im getting used to the euro and now in my mind anything less than 5 euros is cheap..but really..no. its not. my host family is bipolar towards me and my roommate, angelica. the dad is always super nice...hes atually sarcastic which is funny and entertaining especially in french. the mom is really nice and will answer all questions i ask but shes so bitchy sometimes. she keeps making up these rules about cooking and showering and blah blah. i dunno whatever, its fine though cause im not alone haha.
angelica is brazilian but she spent the past month in southern france. so shes pretty much fluent in french now. and portugeuse. and english...oh yeah and spanish. apart from the fact that i hate her for knowing 4 languages shes awesome. and its gonna suck when she leaves in 2 weeks. but then i apparently get an american roommate. lets hope shes not a loser. ha...jk...?
anyways..yesterday was pretty fun. we went to american breakfast which is a diner where...wait for it..they serve breakfast. all day. so i got a bacon cheeseburger with an egg on top. so good. then we went to go see the princess and the frog. in english. it was really really really good. you should go see it. now. afterwards we went to our favorite spot to pregame, a bridge right under the notre dame. finally we made our way over to a bar called "bar oz" which is pretty much clubbies in paris. except bigger..and not filled with 18 year old providence freshmen. people were dancing on tables (you know that, without fail, i did as well) and it was a good time.
right now, im going to the catacombes so im gonna finish this post up and ill write more later now that i have a computer. byee
